Cookie Policy

This policy aims to inform users about the use of cookies on the Trasesa – Occupational Health, Safety and Hygiene Consultants, Ltd. website.

O que são cookies?

Cookies and other similar files, such as pixels, web bugs, etc., are text or image files that are installed in the user's browser when they access an online service.

Cookies are tools that play an essential role in providing various services on the internet. Among other functions, cookies allow a website to store and retrieve information about a user's browser usage habits and, depending on the data collected, can be used to recognise the user and improve the website user experience.

What types of cookies are there?

We present the user with some classifications, without this necessarily implying that this service uses all these types of cookies:

a) According to the entity that manages the equipment or domain from which the cookies are sent and processes the data obtained:

  • First-party cookies are sent to the user's device from a specific piece of equipment or a domain managed by the person responsible, and from which the service requested by the user is provided.
  • Third-party cookies: are sent to the user’s device from a server or domain that is not managed by the data controller, but by another entity that processes the data obtained through cookies.

b) According to the length of time they remain active on the user's device:

  • Session cookies: are designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a website. These are typically used to store information that is only intended to be retained during the provision of the service requested by the user on a single occasion, and they expire upon closing the session or the browser.
  • Persistent cookies: The data remains stored on the user’s device and can be accessed and processed for a period determined by the party responsible for the cookie, which may range from a few minutes to several years. It is used to store and retrieve certain information whenever the user visits a service.

c) According to the purpose for which the data obtained through cookies are processed:

  • Technical cookies: allow the user to navigate a website, platform or application and use the different options or services available. This includes cookies that the controller uses to enable the management and operation of the website and activate its
functionalities and services, such as controlling traffic and data communication, identifying the session, accessing restricted access areas, remembering the items that make up an order, managing payments, controlling security-related service fraud, making registration or event participation requests, etc.
  • Preference or customisation cookies: allow us to store information so that the user can access the service with certain characteristics that may differentiate their experience. Examples include the language, the number of results to display in a search, the appearance or content of the service depending on the type of browser used, or the region from which the service is accessed.
  • Analytical cookies allow the cookie controller to track and analyse user behaviour on the websites they are associated with, including quantifying the impact of advertisements. The information collected through this type of cookie is used to measure the activity of websites, applications or platforms, with the aim of making continuous improvements based on the analysis of user data by service users.
  • Advertising cookies store information about user behaviour, obtained through continuous observation of their usage habits, which allows for the development of a specific profile to present personalised advertising based on that profile.

d) Other technologies

  • Pixels, web bugs or trackers: These are 1x1 pixel, transparent images that are inserted into a service with the aim of measuring website activity. As soon as a particular page on the service is loaded in the browser, this image is also loaded, allowing that data to be measured. Tracking pixels generally allow you to know the path taken by a given IP address on an online service.
  • HTML5 Storage: consists of using the capabilities of HTML5 technology to store certain information in the user's browser that can be used to identify that browser.
  • Local Shared Objects also known as “flash cookies”, consist of storing information on the user's device without resorting to traditional cookies, using Adobe Flash Player technology.
  • Etags: This is a mechanism within the HTTP protocol that allows the temporary storage («cache») that the user keeps in their browser in relation to a website to be validated.
This technology is primarily used to save network resources by avoiding the duplicate transfer of content. However, it can also be used to recognise the user's browser.
  • Canvas fingerprinting: consists of generating a unique signature in the user's browser, leveraging HTML5 web standard technology to identify the user's device.
  • Fraud detection: This technique consists of identifying the font configuration of the user's equipment, with the aim of obtaining a unique identification of the device.
  • Browser cache: As the name suggests, this technique is based on storing information in the browser's cache.
  • WebGL: This technique allows us to take advantage of the capabilities of modern browsers to render three-dimensional figures, with the aim of obtaining a unique identification of the equipment, due to the different configurations of each system.
